Dia de los Muertos - The Day of the Dead. Paul O'Reilly [ealaíontóir agus stiúrthóir E V + A] ag tógaint altóra cosúil le cinn Mhexico in ómós dos na mairbh.

Paul O'Reilly, Administrator of E V + A, the exhibition of visual art [1979 - the present], builds an altar like those built in Mexico to celebrate the Day of The Dead. It consists of numerous examples of Mexican folk and popular art; all representing in one way or another the theme of death as it is understood in Mexican culture.

Paul has been a lecturer in art / art history in Mexico [1969 - 1977] and Ireland [1978 - ], was the Director of The Institute in Mexican Culture at the University of The Americas, Puebla, Mexico [1971 - 1976], and the first and former Director / Curator of the Limerick City Gallery of Art [1985 - 2000]

Léacht le Christy Whiteside "The Buddhist Approach to Death and Dying".
Drawing on the ancient wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism, we will look at the great mystery of death and the lessons that it teaches us for life. Seeing life and death as parts of a single process this approach reveals both the hope and oppurtunity there is in death.

Christine Whiteside first met Sogyal Rinpoche in Dublin in 1978, shortly after moving to Ireland. Since that time she has practised meditation and studied Buddhist teachings with Sogyal Rinpoche and other eminent Tibetan masters.

Mediation Workshop le Christine Whiteside - "Bringing The Mind Home"
In the stillness and silence of mediation we bring our mind home, returning to our deep inner nature. In this workshop we will introduce the attitude, posture and methods of mediation. There will be time to get a taste of the practise and opportunity for questions and discussion.

Christine Whiteside moved to the Beara Peninsula, West Cork in 1986 to assist in establishing the retreat center that is now known as Dzogchen Beara. She has worked as a Rigpa instructor for the last sisteen years, and offers courses at Dzogchen Beara and throughout Ireland on meditation and compassion practises, and topics relating to spiritual care for the dying.

Chanting at Lunchtime Recital

Lucernarium is the liturgical vocal ensemble of the Irish World Music Centre, University of Limerick. Under the direction of Dr. Helen Phelan, the ensemble is coordinated in association with the Masters programme in Chant and Ritual Song.

It specialises in singing chant and liturgical choral music and takes its name from the service of light called the "Lucernarium", which has its roots in Judiac domestic liturgy and the lighting of the Sabbath light. The Christian evening prayer of Vespers originated from this blessing of the evening light.

Eibhlín is a member of the prominent West Kerry Begley family famed for their traditional music.

Joe Burke is among the greatest exponents of traditional Irish Music. Joe traces the sources and melodic forms of Irish Music back to the rhythms and cadences of Irish speech and language, and feels that they have an intimate relationship with each other. To him the music is expressive and emotional, evoking the Irish countryside and the varying humour of the people.

Siúlóid le Berni Goggin mórthimpeall Cill Mhaolcéadair - Berni Goggin will direct a walk at Kilmaolceadair. Kilmaolceadair is the most significant archaeological site on the Dingle Peninsula. It's a complex andinteresting site, which spans the whole development of Early Christianity before and after the Normans.
