Areas of Research

The fields of research are all aspects of traditional Irish culture with particular stress on the artistic, spiritual, folklore, folklife and customs. It is hoped that the long written tradition in the various stages of the Irish language, in Latin and to a lesser extent in English, will be approached from fresh interdisciplinary viewpoints. Linguistics and grammar are but necessary tools; criticism and appreciation are paramount. It is hoped that creative literature, native theology and art will find fresh sources of inspiration in the results of this research. Sabbatical and research scholars will contribute the fruit of original and personal work. A publication facility is at hand ie An Sagart.
